Command Chief (Ret-USAF) Benjamin (Ben) Miranda, Jr., was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Austin High School and joined the United States Air Force in 1993. In the Air Force, Command Chief Miranda served in various roles such as military working dog handler, security forces squad leader, special weapons and tactics instructor, Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Director of Education, Superintendent, Force Protection and Anti-Terrorism Officer, Security Forces Manager, Chief of Police, and Wing Command Chief. He was also an adjunct instructor for Central Texas College while on active duty. Ben deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, UNIFIED RESPONSE and to multiple counter-drug operations in Latin America.
After 25 years of military service, Ben returned to El Paso where he now serves as Outreach Director for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors. Additionally, he is the co-owner and chief operating officer of a Veteran owned business in El Paso. Finally, he actively serves his community as a board member and executive member of various committees at the local and state level.
Ben’s education includes a Master’s of Science in Education Leadership from Walden University, a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Services from Wayland Baptist University, an Associate’s of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from the Community College of the Air Force, an Associate’s of Applied Science in Instructor of Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, and an Undergraduate Certification in Terrorism Studies from the American Military University.
Finally, Ben is married to Gabriela Miranda, who is also from El Paso, and has 5 children.
