Ernesto Gamboa

Ernesto Gamboa re-joined The Hub of Human Innovation as a Business Consultant after previously working for the Hub as Business Director. 

In addition to consulting for the Hub, Ernesto has consulted with various start-up and growing firms in the tech, energy, life science, and manufacturing fields. In total, Ernesto has assisted in over a dozen equity financing rounds. 

He originally joined the Hub in October, 2011 after nearly three years with the City’s Economic Development Department, including serving as Deputy Director. Previously, he worked as the general manager of a local technology start-up company where he oversaw the development, construction and commissioning of a $3 million pilot plant.  

Ernesto served as the Secretary and Access-to-Capital Coordinator for the Camino Real Angels equity investment group from 2002 until 2010 when it was disbanded as an organized group. 

 After serving as a Naval Officer aboard the USS Cleveland (LPD-7) in San Diego, CA, Ernesto worked at Frito-Lay in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, as a production supervisor, eventually overseeing three production departments with 60+ employees.  

 Upon returning to El Paso, Ernesto worked at Best Real Estate as a commercial real estate agent, specializing in industrial facilities. He left Best to join the UTEP International Business Ph.D. program and he is All But Dissertation (ABD) with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. He has taught entrepreneurship at UTEP and management at the University of Phoenix. He has also been a consultant for the Camino Real Angels Investment Network. Ernesto has degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy and UTEP.
